Jayne Peace Pyle, 

Grew up on a cattle ranch in Gisela, Arizona, is a fifth-generation descendant of Gila County pioneering families. Due to her lineage, Jayne has a deep respect for the history and culture of the Southwest and when writing history, she strives to “get it right.” She has grown up hearing the stories of the people and places from her family and others like Slim Ellison and Marguerite Noble who were close friends and mentors to Jayne. Jayne is an outstanding researcher and genealogist who searches out Arizona family records.

Jayne’s first book, The History of Gisela, Arizona, published in 1981, earned her recognition as an Arizona historian. Since that time, she has written five more historical books: Peace Family History, 1982; A Cowboy, 1990; Rodeo 101 – History of the Payson, Arizona Rodeo (co-author), 2004; Calf Fries and Cow Pies (co-author), 2004; Cooking For Zane Grey, 2005; Muanami (a novel), 2005; and Payson, Arizona, 2009 (for Arcadia Publishing).

Jayne is in the process of writing Woman of the Pleasant Valley War which will follow her husband’s recently released book, Pleasant Valley War. 

Jayne was awarded the Arizona CultureKeeper Award in 2005 and she serves on the Arizona CultureKeepers State Committee. She is also a Town of Payson Historian, along with her husband.

In 2002, Jayne Peace Pyle and her husband, Jinx Pyle, created Git A Rope Publishing, Inc. To date they have published 36 books for other people.

           

Jinx Pyle

A native of the Mogollon Rim Country of Arizona, Jinx can trace his linage back through five generations of Arizona Ranchers, lion and bear hunters, packers, prospectors, and cowboys. 

He has made his living with cattle and horses, much the same way his great-grandfathers did.  

He is now the author of eight books of the Southwest.  Jinx plays the guitar and sings cowboy sons writes cowboy poetry, and tells stories and history of the Old West.
